Long-term prognosis of patients undergoing radiofrequency catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation: comparison between heart failure subtypes based on left ventricular ejection fraction

Hajime Fujimoto et al.

Summary: This study found that patients with heart failure and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) had a higher risk for a composite of all-cause death, heart failure hospitalization, and stroke or systemic embolism after atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation compared to patients with mid-range or preserved LVEF. Reduced LVEF was identified as the most significant independent risk factor for this outcome.

Impact of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation on cardiac disorders in patients with coexisting heart failure

Tetsuma Kawaji et al.

Summary: In patients undergoing catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation with coexisting heart failure, all cardiac disorders showed significant improvement after the procedure and most of these improvements were maintained during the 5-year follow-up period.

Summary: The CABANA trial showed that catheter ablation in patients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation can significantly improve survival, reduce AF recurrence, and enhance quality of life compared to drug therapy.

Catheter ablation for non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation accompanied by heart failure with preserved ejection fraction: feasibility and benefits in functions and B-type natriuretic peptide

Ryota Yamauchi et al.

Summary: This study examined the benefits of catheter ablation in patients with non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation accompanied by heart failure. The results showed that catheter ablation was highly feasible for restoring sinus rhythm in HFpEF patients, improving cardiac function and BNP levels.
