Spatiotemporal variability of atmospheric CO2 concentration and controlling factors over sugarcane cultivation areas in southern Brazil

Summary: This study characterized the spatial-temporal variability and main factors controlling atmospheric CO2 column in the macroregion of Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil using remote sensing data. Negative correlations were found between Xco(2) and factors such as photosynthesis, relative humidity, and global radiation. Hotspots and coldspots of Xco(2) varied over the years.

Summary: This study examines the drivers and impacts of rural electrification with Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems in Ethiopia, finding that the use of solar PV systems is growing and can lead to cost savings, increased electricity production, and higher income for rural households. However, challenges such as poor quality products, high costs, lack of after-sales services, and limited access to credit financing sources were also identified.

Summary: Agriculture and soil management practices have a direct impact on CO2 emissions in crop fields. This study investigated the relationship between NDVI, SIF, and xCO2 in different agroecosystems in southern-central Brazil, finding a negative correlation between SIF and xCO2. The results suggest the potential use of SIF and xCO2 to identify sources and sinks of greenhouse gases in agricultural areas.
