Genomic Predictions for Common Bunt, FHB, Stripe Rust, Leaf Rust, and Leaf Spotting Resistance in Spring Wheat

Kassa Semagn et al.

Summary: This study investigated the application of genomic selection in major diseases of spring wheat and compared the impact of different models on prediction accuracies. The results showed that the M3 model, which incorporated GE interactions, outperformed the M2 model in reducing residual variance and improving prediction accuracies.

Deep transfer learning for conditional shift in regression

Xu Liu et al.

Summary: Deep transfer learning (DTL) has been increasingly studied in the field of smart manufacturing, with a focus on addressing marginal distribution shift in classification tasks. This paper introduces a new regression scenario in machine health monitoring systems (MHMS) with conditional distribution discrepancy and proposes a DTL framework named CDAR for broader applications. By utilizing a hybrid loss function combining mean square error (MSE) and conditional embedding operator discrepancy (CEOD), CDAR aims to finetune the target model to preserve global properties of the conditional distribution, showing effectiveness in comparison with classical algorithms and DTL methods in experimental results.

Robust transfer learning based on Geometric Mean Metric Learning

Peng Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel robust transfer learning method based on geometric mean metric learning, which combines transfer learning and metric learning to learn more discriminative feature representation in different distribution source and target domains. By jointly adapting the marginal and conditional distributions of the domains, the proposed model dynamically combines discriminative modeling and domain adaption to improve robustness. Extensive experiments on widely adopted datasets validate the superiority of the proposed GMTL over existing state-of-the-art transfer learning methods.
