Multi-Frequency Acoustic Levitation and Trapping of Particles in All Degrees of Freedom

Marc Rothlisberger et al.

Summary: Stabilization of non-spherical, sub-wavelength particles in mid-air is crucial for applications such as micro manufacturing processes and 3-D scanning that utilize acoustic levitation forces. This study presents a compact device that can independently adjust vertical trapping forces and stabilizing torque, enabling improved stability and locking of high-density objects.

Study on Particle Manipulation in a Metal Internal Channel under Acoustic Levitation

Yaxing Wang et al.

Summary: This study designed a test system for internal levitation in three-dimensional space to study the acoustic levitation and manipulation of micro-particles inside heterogeneous structures in metal. Through experimental tests, the relationship between levitation force, particle diameter, and other parameters was established, and a method for controlling particle motion in three-dimensional space was demonstrated. These research results provide an effective processing solution for utilizing the internal spatial structure of metal.

Material Treatment in the Pulsation Reactor-From Flame Spray Pyrolysis to Industrial Scale

Stefan Heidinger et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel approach to designing materials on a lab scale using flame spray pyrolysis and transferring the synthesis to a pulsation reactor for mass production. Empirical studies on zirconia and silica are conducted to validate the feasibility of this method. Furthermore, an interdisciplinary approach is introduced to model the processes in a pulsation reactor and facilities for laboratory investigations and pulsation reactor testing in an industrial environment are presented.
