Respiratory Syncytial Virus-Associated Hospitalization Rates among US Infants: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Summary: Our systematic literature review and meta-analysis on RSV-associated hospitalization rates among US infants revealed an annual range from 8.4 to 40.8 per 1000, with a pooled rate of 19.4 per 1000. Study type significantly influenced the rates, with active surveillance studies showing lower rates (11.0) compared to studies using administrative claims (21.4) or modeling approaches (23.2).
