Association between postoperative hypoalbuminemia and postoperative pulmonary imaging abnormalities patients undergoing craniotomy for brain tumors: a retrospective cohort study

Da-wei Zhao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the incidence and risk factors of postoperative hypoalbuminemia in brain tumor surgery patients and its impact on complications. It found that hypoalbuminemia was associated with operation time, preoperative albumin, and peroperative globulin. Patients with hypoalbuminemia had a higher incidence of postoperative pulmonary imaging abnormalities and postoperative pneumonia.

Infection profiles of different chemotherapy regimens and the clinical feasibility of antimicrobial prophylaxis in patients with DLBCL

Akihiro Ohmoto et al.

Summary: Various chemotherapy regimens are used in the treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients, with infectious toxicity being an important issue. The incidence of febrile neutropenia varies between different regimens, highlighting the need for individualized treatment based on patient characteristics. While the effectiveness of prophylactic antibiotics/antifungal agents is controversial, the use of prophylactic granulocyte-colony stimulating factor is recommended.

Incidence and risk factors of pneumonia in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients receiving first line R-CHOP/R-CHOP-like immunochemotherapy: a retrospective study of 287 patients in single center

Jingwen Wang et al.

Summary: This retrospective study on DLBCL patients undergoing immunochemotherapy found that 29.3% developed pneumonia, which was associated with inferior progression-free survival. Risk factors for pneumonia during treatment included age, advanced stage, chronic kidney disease, severe agranulocytosis, and pneumonia at onset. Surveillance should be emphasized to prevent pneumonia in high-risk patients.

Summary: Low LMR in peripheral blood is associated with poor prognosis in lymphoma patients, including HL, NHL, and its subtypes. Additionally, low LMR is related to higher LDH, advanced tumor staging, and IPI score.
