Feasibility, Reproducibility, and Clinical Implications of the Novel Fully Automated Assessment for Global Longitudinal Strain

Summary: The study investigated the feasibility, reproducibility, and predictive value of automated strain analysis compared to semiautomated and manual assessment of GLS in 561 asymptomatic subjects. The automated GLS measurements were technically feasible, with shorter calculation times than manual assessment, but still required manual correction in a substantial number of cases. Automated GLS showed potential in predicting cardiac events, although its predictive value was inferior to semiautomated GLS.
