Microstructure evolution and growth mechanism of Si-MoSi2 composite coatings on TZM (Mo-0.5Ti-0.1Zr-0.02 C) alloy

Yingyi Zhang et al.

Summary: Si-MoSi2 composite coatings with high silicon concentration were prepared on TZM alloy through a hot dip siliconizing method. The coatings have dense and uniform microstructure with submicron roughness. Different stages of growth process of silicide ceramic coating were observed.

Tuning of 2D magnets Curie temperature via substrate

Sergey Belim et al.

Summary: The substrate's period and gradient of the exchange integral have a direct impact on the change in phase transition temperature, while the substrate potential and coverage coefficient have complex effects on the phase transition in the spin system. The phase transition temperature can be either increased or decreased depending on the coverage coefficient, whether it is 0.1 or 1.

Investigation of Phase Transitions in Ferromagnetic Nanofilms on a Non-Magnetic Substrate by Computer Simulation

Sergey V. Belim

Summary: Computer simulation is used to examine the magnetic properties of ferromagnetic nanofilms on non-magnetic substrate, with consideration of substrate influence and film deformation. The magnetic properties are found to be influenced by changes in the substrate due to compression or stretching, affecting the Curie temperature of the films.

Improving oxidation resistance of TZM alloy by deposited Si-MoSi2 composite coating with high silicon concentration

Yingyi Zhang et al.

Summary: The oxidation behavior of Si-MoSi2 composite coating on TZM alloy at 1200℃ in air was investigated. The coated samples showed excellent oxidation resistance at medium temperature due to the formation of self-healing SiO2 protective layer and the dense structure of the coating.

Formation of MoSi2 and Si/MoSi2 coatings on TZM (Mo-0.5Ti-0.1Zr-0.02C) alloy by hot dip silicon-plating method

Yingyi Zhang et al.

Summary: MoSi2 and Si-MoSi2 composite coatings with fine MoSi2 grain size and high surface silicon concentration were successfully deposited on TZM alloy using a hot dip silicon-plating method. The gradient structure of the coatings, including MoSi2 layer, Mo5Si3C layer, and Si-MoSi2 layer, contributes to reducing stress mutation and crack propagation. SEM and CLSM results demonstrate that a significant portion of MoSi2 grains are covered by silicon layer, leading to very low coating surface roughness when deposition time exceeds 10 minutes.

Phase Transition and Magnetoelectric Effect in 2D Ferromagnetic Films on a Ferroelectric Substrate

Igor Bychkov et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the behavior of 2D ferromagnetic films on a ferroelectric substrate with the simulation of a Frenkel-Kontorova potential. The effect of an electric field on the substrate leads to its deformation, resulting in a decrease in the film's Curie temperature. The Ising model and the Wolf cluster algorithm are used to describe the magnetic behavior of the film.
