Expression and function of the luteinizing hormone choriogonadotropin receptor in human endometrial stromal cells

O. N. Mann et al.

Summary: This study reveals the presence of a small subpopulation of endometrial stromal cells expressing LHCGR transcripts, although these cells did not exhibit functional responses to hCG and LH. The findings challenge the belief that LHCGR is functionally active in the human endometrium.

Nuclear receptors: Key regulators of somatic cell functions in the ovulatory process

Camilla H. K. Hughes et al.

Summary: The development of ovarian follicles to ovulation is essential for fertility, with nuclear receptors playing key roles in regulating granulosa cell proliferation, hormone synthesis, and final stages of follicular growth. LRH-1 is a crucial nuclear receptor in these processes, and other receptors like ESR2 and AR also play important roles.

Blocking estrogen-induced AMH expression is crucial for normal follicle formation

Ren Tanimoto et al.

Summary: This study reveals that estrogen receptor 1 activated by estrogen binds to the 5' region of the Amh gene in cultured mouse fetal ovaries, upregulating its transcription and causing ectopic expression of AMH protein, which inhibits normal follicle formation. Additionally, the addition of AFP to the culture medium inhibits ectopic AMH expression via estrogen, leading to successful follicle formation in vitro.

What Does Unexpected Suboptimal Response During Ovarian Stimulation Suggest, an Overlooked Group?

Bijun Wang et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of unexpected suboptimal response during ovulation induction on pregnancy rate and offspring safety, comparing patients with normal ovarian response and suboptimal ovarian response with a large amount of data. Results showed that factors such as age, BMI, and baseline FSH were associated with slow ovarian response, while initial dosage of Gn, FSH, and LH levels were protective factors against suboptimal response. Age-related differences in the number of retrieved oocytes suggest a decline in ovarian reserve in elderly patients with suboptimal response.

Revisiting the Impact of Local Leptin Signaling in Folliculogenesis and Oocyte Maturation in Obese Mothers

Karolina Wolodko et al.

Summary: Maternal obesity can lead to impaired leptin signaling, resulting in high levels of estrogen and leptin in the bloodstream, which adversely affects ovarian function. This review highlights the potential impact of impaired leptin signaling on folliculogenesis and oocyte developmental competence in both mice and women.
