HPV E6/E7 promotes aerobic glycolysis in cervical cancer by regulating IGF2BP2 to stabilize m6A-MYC expression

Chenchen Hu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that HPV infection enhances aerobic glycolysis in cervical cancer cells through the regulation of MYC mRNA modifications by E6/E7 proteins via IGF2BP2.

Design, Synthesis, and Apoptosis-Promoting Effect Evaluation of Rhopaladins' Analog 4-Arylidene-5-Oxopyrrolidine Derivatives

Summary: Marine alkaloids have novel structures and antitumor activities. In this study, analogs of rhopaladins from marine alkaloids were synthesized and modified, leading to the discovery of RPDPRH with high efficiency and less hepatotoxicity. RPDPRH demonstrated potent in vitro anti-proliferative activity against various cancer cells, particularly in hepatocarcinoma cells. It induced apoptosis in these cells by regulating the expression of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins. These findings suggest that RPDPRH has the potential to be developed as an antitumor agent and warrants further investigation.

RPRD1B is a potentially molecular target for diagnosis and prevention of human papillomavirus E6/E7 infection-induced cervical cancer: A case-control study

Na Wen et al.

Summary: In this study, HPV E6/E7 and RPRD1B mRNA expression was significantly higher in cervical cancer patients compared to controls, while cyclin D1 mRNA expression was lower in patients with cervical carcinoma in situ. RPRD1B protein expression was higher in patients with cancer compared to controls, and TCF4 protein expression was lower in early stages of cervical cancer. Age seemed to affect the expression of RPRD1B and cyclin D1 in cervical cancer patients.

ERa-36 instead of ERa mediates the stimulatory effects of estrogen on the expression of viral oncogenes HPV E6/E7 and the malignant phenotypes in cervical cancer cells

Xiao Zhang et al.

Summary: In cervical cancer cells, ER alpha and ER alpha-36 have antagonistic effects on the expression of HPV E6/E7. ER alpha-36 promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while ER alpha inhibits these processes. This suggests that targeting ER alpha-36 with selective antagonists may be a promising strategy for cervical cancer therapy.
