Effect of lattice structure evolution on the thermal and mechanical properties of Cu-Al2O3/GNPs nanocomposites

Abdulrahman Khamaj et al.

Summary: In this study, Cu-based hybrid nanocomposites reinforced by Al2O3 and GNPs were manufactured using high-energy ball milling, compaction, and sintering. Experimental consideration of different processing parameters led to the fabrication of nanocomposites with superior mechanical and thermal properties, particularly for the composition containing 0.5% GNPs sintered at 1000 C. Improved performance was attributed to factors such as low stacking fault energy, small crystallite size, and better dispersion of nano-particles in the matrix.

Effect of ZnO Nanoparticle Content on the Structural and Ionic Transport Parameters of Polyvinyl Alcohol Based Proton-Conducting Polymer Electrolyte Membranes

Omed Gh Abdullah et al.

Summary: Proton conducting nanocomposite solid polymer electrolytes based on PVA/NH4NO3 and different contents of ZnO-NPs were prepared using the casting solution method. The sample with 2 wt.% ZnO-NPs showed high amorphous content and lower bulk resistance, leading to significantly enhanced proton conduction. The increase in ionic conductivity was attributed to the higher number and mobility of proton ions in the presence of ZnO-NPs.

Flexural Strength and Hardness of Filler-Reinforced PMMA Targeted for Denture Base Application

Abdulaziz Alhotan et al.

Summary: The flexural strength and surface hardness of heat-cured PMMA were significantly improved by adding ZrO2 nanoparticles, TiO2 nanoparticles, and E-glass fibre. The optimal filler concentrations for enhancing flexural strength were found to be between 3-5% ZrO2, 1.5% TiO2, and 3-7% E-glass fibre. Fillers at a concentration of 3 wt.% and above significantly improved hardness for all composites.
