Biogeography of bats in Iran: Mapping and disentangling environmental and historical drivers of bat richness

Anooshe Kafash et al.

Summary: The study focused on the distribution of bat species richness in Iran, revealing that the Zagros Mountains host the highest number of species. Precipitation and topographic heterogeneity were found to be the key factors influencing bat richness in Iran, with Temperate Grasslands, Savannas, and Shrublands biome being the most distinct in terms of bat assemblage.
