Activated steady status and distinctive FcεRI-mediated responsiveness in basophils of atopic dermatitis

Shinya Imamura et al.

Summary: This study found that basophils in patients with atopic dermatitis exhibited spontaneous activation and lower responsiveness to anti-IgE stimulation compared to healthy controls, despite elevated levels of serum IgE. Additionally, Fc epsilon RI expression on basophils was higher in patients with atopic dermatitis than in healthy controls, while surface-bound IgE was relatively low.
