Validation of the Clinical Assessment Scale for Autoimmune Encephalitis: A Multicenter Study

Meng-Ting Cai et al.

Summary: Through a multi-center study in China, the Clinical Assessment Scale for Autoimmune Encephalitis (CASE) was validated for assessing the severity of neuronal surface antibody-associated AE. CASE performed well in assessing non-motor symptoms and was more sensitive to changes in disease severity compared to the modified Rankin scale (mRS).

Influential factors and predictors of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis associated with severity at admission

Xiao-Xue Huang et al.

Summary: Fever, generalized seizures, consciousness disorder, and elevated NLR were independent risk factors for disease severity. NLR is a good predictor of the severity of illness at admission. The study found the strongest significant positive correlation between NLR and disease severity at admission, highlighting the importance of these factors in predicting the severity of anti-NMDAR encephalitis.

Peripheral Immune Cell Ratios and Clinical Outcomes in Seropositive Autoimmune Encephalitis: A Study by the Australian Autoimmune Encephalitis Consortium

Summary: This study suggests that NLR on initial hospital admission blood tests may provide important prognostic information for cases of seropositive AE. High NLR was associated with higher odds of first line treatment failure, while increased MLR was not associated with any short or long-term outcome.

Neuronal Surface Antibody-Medicated Autoimmune Encephalitis (Limbic Encephalitis) in China: A Multiple-Center, Retrospective Study

Wei Shan et al.

Summary: The study found that in China, the male-to-female ratio of autoimmune encephalitis patients is approximately 1.2:1, with the main subtypes being NMDAR-AE (61.35%), LGI-1-AE (20.61%), and GABAbR-AE (12.40%). The age of onset of the disease shows a double peak distribution, mainly in the 20-year-old and 60-year-old age groups. among the relapsed patients, 52 cases were NMDAR-AE (18.2%), 19 cases were LGI-1-AE (16.8%), 5 cases were GABAbR-AE (9%), and 3 cases were CASPR2-AE.

Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte, platelet-to-lymphocyte and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio as a prognostic factor in non-endometrioid endometrial cancer

Heekyoung Song et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the prognostic value of NMR, PLR, and MLR in non-endometrioid endometrial cancer patients. Elevated MLR was significantly associated with higher recurrence and cancer-related deaths, and it was identified as an independent prognostic factor for disease-free survival and overall survival in multivariate analysis. This suggests that MLR may be a clinically reliable and useful prognostic marker for non-endometrioid endometrial cancer patients.
