Microglial lysophosphatidic acid promotes glioblastoma proliferation and migration via LPA1receptor

Rackele F. Amaral et al.

Summary: More aggressive GBM expresses higher levels of ENPP2, which correlates with worse prognosis in proneural GBM patients. GBM-secreted factors can increase LPA(1) and ATX levels in microglia, with this increase enhanced under hypoxic conditions. Microglia-induced increase in ATX expression in GBM suggests that microglial-derived LPA may support tumor growth and invasion.
