DNA barcoding ferns in an unexplored tropical montane cloud forest area of southeast Oaxaca, Mexico

Sonia Trujillo-Argueta et al.

Summary: DNA barcoding using three plastid barcodes (rbcLa, matK, trnH-psbA) in neotropical cloud forest ferns showed that rbcLa is most effective for species identification, trnH-psbA is suitable for phylogenetic analysis, and matK may not be a universal barcoding marker.
