Enhanced microwave absorption property of ferroferric Oxide: The role of magnetoelectric resonance

Kang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents a facile method to improve the microwave absorption properties of ferrites through direct fluorination. The fluorinated Fe3O4 (F-Fe3O4) exhibits a unique 'magnetoelectric collaborative resonance' (MDR) effect, with double dielectric and magnetic resonance peaks at 14.8 and 16.6 GHz. The smaller energy gap derived from fluorine doping facilitates electron hopping and accumulation, inducing magnetic exchange interactions and the Maxwell-Wagner effect. As a result, F-Fe3O4 shows improved microwave absorption properties compared to pristine Fe3O4.

Summary: In this study, hollow porous cauliflower shaped cobalt spheres/graphite nanosheets (hp-Co/GNs) composites with excellent absorbing performance have been fabricated through a solvothermal method and subsequent hydrothermal reduction process. The morphology of the composites and their microwave absorption properties can be regulated by changing the time of the hydrothermal reduction reaction. The excellent absorbing performance is attributed to the special structure and synergism of magnetic loss and dielectric loss.

Drag effect induced large anisotropic damping behavior in magnetic thin films with strong magnetic anisotropy

Yang Li et al.

Summary: This study presents a comprehensive investigation of magnetic relaxation in ferromagnetic films with different in-plane magnetic anisotropy using ferromagnetic resonance technique. The results show that the magnetic drag effect can lead to resonant linewidth broadening and a nonlinear dependence of linewidth on frequency. This may result in the inaccurate extraction of the key dynamic parameter-Gilbert damping and confusing behaviors in films and multi-layers with high magnetic anisotropy.
