Thermal and mechanical stability of microwave sintered cold compact bismuth telluride thermoelectric material

Farheen F. Jaldurgam et al.

Summary: Both p-type and n-type bismuth telluride-based thermoelectric materials show high thermoelectric efficiency in low-temperature thermoelectric modules, but their thermal and mechanical stability restrict their commercial applications. In this study, we report the thermal and mechanical properties of these materials prepared by the cold compaction method. The results show good thermal stability below 350°C and consistent compression strength for all samples.

Effect of Annealing Conditions on Thermoelectric Properties of Magnetron Sputtered MgO-Ag3Sb-Sb2O4 Flexible Films

Liu Dan et al.

Summary: In this study, Mg-Ag-Sb thin films were prepared on polyimide substrates using magnetron sputtering, and the effects of annealing conditions on their thermoelectric properties were investigated. The results showed that vacuum annealing significantly improved the thermoelectric properties of the flexible thermoelectric film, with the best performance achieved at an annealing temperature of 573 K.

Facile self-supporting and flexible Cu2S/PEDOT:PSS composite thermoelectric film with high thermoelectric properties for body energy harvesting

Dan Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, self-supporting and flexible Cu2S/PEDOT:PSS composite thermoelectric films were prepared by vacuum filtration. It was found that the electrical conductivities and Seebeck coefficients of the composite films varied with Cu2S content and cold-pressing pressure, leading to changes in the maximum power factor. The cold-pressed composite films showed increased power output and good flexibility for potential applications in low-power wearable electronic devices.

Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in n-Type Bi2O2Se by an Exquisite Grain Boundary Engineering Approach

Zhuang-hao Zheng et al.

Summary: By introducing Bi into Bi2O2Se and controlling grain boundaries thermally, improvements in interface-related carrier/phonon transport greatly enhance electrical conductivity without affecting the Seebeck coefficient, leading to a strong enhancement in the power factor. Additionally, tailoring the Bi content to design grain boundaries and induce Bi nanocomposition strengthens phonon scattering, progressively suppressing lattice thermal conductivity.
