Elucidating the Role of Microstructure in Thiophosphate Electrolytes - a Combined Experimental and Theoretical Study of β-Li3PS4

Tugce Ates et al.

Summary: Solid-state batteries, with optimized solid electrolytes, have the potential to exceed the energy densities of lithium-ion batteries. In this study, the microstructure of beta-LPS electrolyte and its impact on electrochemical performance were investigated. It was found that beta-LPS electrolyte pellets with higher porosity and larger particle size exhibited higher ionic conductivity and improved cycling stability.
