Morphology-dependent photocatalysis of graphitic carbon nitride for sustainable remediation of aqueous pollutants: A mini review

Shuaijun Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents a mini review on the sustainable photocatalytic remediation of micropollutants using morphology-engineered graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4). The methods for advanced morphology control of g-C3N4 are discussed, and insights into morphology-dependent photocatalysis over g-C3N4 are revealed. The review also provides perspectives on challenges and solutions for sustainable water purification using metal-free polymer materials.

Efficient interfacial charge transfer of 2D/2D porous carbon nitride/bismuth oxychloride step-scheme heterojunction for boosted solar-driven CO2 reduction

Yao Huo et al.

Summary: Heterostructured photocatalysts, such as the step-scheme porous g-C3N4/Bi12O17Cl2 (PGCN/BOC) nanocomposite, show enhanced photocatalytic performance by promoting interfacial charge migration and shortening the diffusion path of charge carriers. This work provides new insights into constructing novel heterojunctions for photocatalytic CO2 reduction.

Objective Findings on the K-Doped g-C3N4 Photocatalysts: The Presence and Influence of Organic Byproducts on K-Doped g-C3N4 Photocatalysis

Binyao Liu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the presence of organic byproducts in K-doped g-C3N4 synthesized by thermal condensation methods, which negatively impact the photocatalytic performance. Hot-water washing was found to be a relatively effective approach to remove the organic byproducts. The formation of organic byproducts was attributed to the insufficient thermal condensation caused by the presence of K salts in the precursor molecules.
