Study of the properties of the catalysts based on Ni(Mg)Al-Layered Hydroxides for the reaction of furfural hydrogenation

Liudmila N. Stepanova et al.

Summary: Ni(Mg)Al-layered double hydroxides were synthesized by coprecipitation and studied for their structural and textural properties. The mixed oxides Ni(Mg)AlOx obtained by calcination showed high specific surface area, which decreased with increasing nickel content. The activity and selectivity of Ni(Mg)AlOx in furfural hydrogenation were found to be dependent on the nickel content in the catalysts.
