Plasma-Catalytic Reactions for Soot Oxidation on VOx/M (M=KIT-6, SBA-15 and SiO2) Catalysts: Influence of Pore Structure

Hanpeng Wu et al.

Summary: The effect of the pore structure on plasma-catalytic soot oxidation was investigated using VOx/M (M=KIT-6, SBA-15, SiO2) catalysts. The combination of VOx/KIT-6 and plasma showed the highest soot oxidation rate, and VOx/KIT-6 achieved a soot oxidation rate of 97.4% and an energy efficiency of 0.95 g kWh(-1) at 30 min and 20 W. The good performance of VOx/KIT-6 can be attributed to its well-developed 3D mesoporous structure and improved redox properties.

Experimental investigation of diesel soot oxidation reactivity along the exhaust after-treatment system components

Xingyu Liang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the oxidation reactivity of soot particles in a diesel engine's exhaust after-treatment system, finding that the reactivity increased linearly along the system's components, indicating increasing stability of the particles. Additionally, the study showed that the catalyst components in the system increased the graphitization of the particles, necessitating higher energy or more powerful catalysts for cleaning.

Synergy of NTP-La1-xAgxMn1-yCoyO3-δ Hybrid for Soot Catalytic Combustion at Low Temperature

Shixin Liu et al.

Summary: Ag and Co co-doped La1-xAgxMn1-yCoyO3-delta perovskites were prepared using the citric acid sol-gel method. When combined with non-thermal plasma (NTP), the efficiency of soot removal from diesel exhaust gas was significantly improved, with the hybrid La0.5Ag0.5Mn0.8Co0.2O3-delta showing the highest performance. The synergistic catalytic effect of NTP and La1-xAgxMn1-yCoyO3-delta was attributed to the coordination of short-living species in plasma, adsorbed oxygen, and Ag nanoparticles on the material surface.
