Excellent Multiphoton Excitation Fluorescence with Large Multiphoton Absorption Cross Sections of Arginine-Modified Gold Nanoclusters for Bioimaging

Zhongran Wei et al.

Summary: This study reports the regulated one-photon and multiphoton properties of arginine-stabilized 6-aza-2-thiothymine Gold nanoclusters and their applications for multiphoton fluorescence imaging. The introduction of arginine significantly modifies the electronic structure and absorption cross sections of the gold nanoclusters, reducing nonradiative relaxation and suppressing blinking, enhancing fluorescence. Furthermore, the gold nanoclusters demonstrate remarkable multiphoton fluorescence with high multiphoton absorption cross sections.

A highly selective ratiometric fluorescent probe for doxycycline based on the sensitization effect of bovine serum albumin

Lu Ding et al.

Summary: Fluorescent probes with in-situ visual feature have gained attention for detecting doxycycline (DC), a widely used tetracycline antibiotic in animal husbandry. Bovine serum albumin-capped gold nanoclusters (BSA-AuNCs) were used as a ratiometric fluorescent probe to selectively detect DC among tetracycline antibiotics. BSA-AuNCs showed the highest response toward DC, with simple synthesis, short response time (1 min), and low detection limit. This work proposes an efficient strategy for designing fluorescent probes to selectively detect DC among tetracycline antibiotics.
