Dilepton Rapidity Distribution in Drell-Yan Production to Third Order in QCD

Xuan Chen et al.

Summary: We calculate the lepton-pair rapidity distribution in the photon-mediated Drell-Yan process to a high order in QCD for the first time. Our results demonstrate significant QCD corrections at this high order over the entire rapidity region, and independently confirm the recent results for the total Drell-Yan cross section.

Mixed Strong-Electroweak Corrections to the Drell-Yan Process

Roberto Bonciani et al.

Summary: This study presents the first complete computation of the mixed QCD-electroweak (EW) corrections to the neutral-current Drell-Yan process. The two-loop virtual contribution is computed using semianalytical techniques, and the cancellation of singularities is achieved through an appropriate qT subtraction formalism. The results show that the mixed QCD-EW corrections are negative and increase in magnitude at high lepton pT values, with a maximum of about -15% compared to the next-to-leading-order QCD result at pT 1/4 500 GeV. Up to dilepton invariant masses of 1 TeV, the computed corrections amount to about -1.5% compared to the next-to-leading-order QCD result.

Two-loop mixed QCD-EW corrections to neutral current Drell-Yan

Tommaso Armadillo et al.

Summary: We present the two-loop mixed strong-electroweak virtual corrections to the neutral current Drell-Yan process and provide the explicit formulae of the infrared-subtracted finite remainder as supplementary material. The final state collinear singularities are regularised by the lepton mass. The calculation of all relevant Feynman integrals, including those with up to two internal massive lines, is carried out using analytical and semi-analytical techniques in the case of complex-valued masses.

Lepton-pair production at hadron colliders at N3LO in QCD

Claude Duhr et al.

Summary: For the first time, we have computed the complete corrections to the strong coupling constant in the inclusive neutral-current Drell-Yan process, taking into account contributions from both photon and Z-boson exchange. Our analysis includes QCD corrections to the inclusive production cross section of an axial-vector boson to third order in strong coupling, considering the effects of non-decoupling of the top-quark mass. We have also presented predictions for the inclusive Drell-Yan process at the LHC, based on this order of QCD perturbation theory.

On-shell Z boson production at hadron colliders through O(ααs)

Roberto Bonciani et al.

Summary: The paper presents the analytical expressions of the mixed QCD-EW corrections to on-shell Z boson inclusive production cross section at hadron colliders, along with computational details. The results are given in terms of polylogarithmic functions and elliptic integrals. The impact on the prediction of the Z boson production total cross section is discussed, comparing different proton parton density sets.

NLO EW and QCD corrections to polarized ZZ production in the four-charged-lepton channel at the LHC

Summary: This study presents a method for calculating NLO accurate polarized cross-sections for the production of two polarized Z bosons at the LHC, including NLO EW corrections for the first time and combining them with NLO QCD corrections and contributions from the gluon-induced process. This provides a theoretical foundation for experimental studies and tests of the electroweak-symmetry-breaking mechanism in nature.

Cuts for two-body decays at colliders

Gavin P. Salam et al.

Summary: Fixed-order perturbative calculations for two-body decay processes at colliders exhibit sensitivity to unphysically low momentum scales and poor convergence, especially in the case of H -> γγ in gluon fusion. By making simple modifications to fiducial cuts, such as replacing linear dependence with quadratic dependence, significant improvements in perturbative expansion behavior can be achieved. More sophisticated cuts can even achieve Higgs p(t)-independent acceptance at low p(t) with various advantages.

Summary: This manuscript reports the results of a topical workshop on alternative NNLO strategies in high-energy physics, discussing different frameworks for precise higher-order computations and strategies for dealing with infrared and ultraviolet singularities in quantum field theories. Mixed EW-QCD two-loop amplitudes for qq→l+l- and γ5 scheme independence of multi-loop corrections

Matthias Heller et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the qq-initiated two-loop electroweak-QCD Drell-Yan scattering amplitude with vanishing light quark and lepton masses using dimensional regularization schemes. It is found that the infrared pole terms of the mixed two-loop amplitude are controlled by a known generalization of the dipole formula, and that exactly the same two-loop polarized hard scattering functions are obtained in both the standard 't Hooft-Veltman-Breitenlohner-Maison gamma(5) scheme and Kreimer's anticommuting gamma(5) scheme.

Mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to pp → lνl + X at the LHC

Luca Buonocore et al.

Summary: In this study, the mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to hadroproduction of a massive charged lepton and the corresponding neutrino through the Drell-Yan mechanism are computed for the first time. The cancellation of soft and collinear singularities is achieved, and real and virtual contributions are consistently included without approximation. The calculated corrections show qualitative agreement with a factorized approach and exhibit negative trends at large lepton transverse momenta, reaching about -20% at p(T) = 500 GeV compared to the next-to-leading-order QCD result.

Summary: The impact of mixed QCD-electroweak corrections on the production of W and Z bosons at the LHC was studied, showing a potential shift of up to 20 MeV in the extracted W mass value from W decays. To achieve the target precision of W-mass measurement at the LHC, fully differential computations of mixed QCD-electroweak corrections and a careful analysis of their potential impact on W mass determination are necessary.

Mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to W-boson production in hadron collisions

Summary: Mixed QCD-electroweak corrections to fully differential production of an on-shell W boson, including decays of W bosons to lepton pairs in the leading order approximation, are computed analytically for arbitrary electroweak gauge boson masses. Analytic results for integrated subtraction terms are obtained within a soft-collinear subtraction scheme tailored to handle the structural simplicity of infrared singularities of mixed QCD-electroweak contributions, with numerical results presented for mixed corrections to the fiducial cross section of pp -> W+ -> l(+)nu and selected kinematic distributions in this process.
