The Combined Effects of Patient Activation and Relational Aspects on the Quality of Life in Atrial Fibrillation Patients

Jie Wang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the influence of patient activation (PA) and relational aspects on the quality of life (QoL) in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF). The findings showed that patients with AF had moderate QoL, and those with higher levels of patient activation tended to have milder symptoms, more positive daily activities, and fewer treatment concerns. Healthcare personnel are encouraged to promote active participation in cardiac rehabilitation and disease self-management to improve QoL in AF patients. Further research is needed to develop tailored interventions to enhance patient activation levels.
