Multi-Modal Co-Learning for Liver Lesion Segmentation on PET-CT Images

Zhongliang Xue et al.

Summary: Liver lesion segmentation is crucial for hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis and treatment planning. Current methods lack interaction across multi-modal channels, do not co-learn features of different resolutions effectively, and fail to ensure sufficient complementation of shallow and deep features. Our proposed model addresses these challenges by sharing down-sampling blocks between encoding branches, combining feature maps of different resolutions, and introducing a similarity loss function for consistency constraint. Experimental results show our method outperforms baseline techniques for multi-modal segmentation, with significantly higher accuracy (p < 0.05).

A Multiprocessing Scheme for PET Image Pre-Screening, Noise Reduction, Segmentation and Lesion Partitioning

Runxi Cui et al.

Summary: The study proposed a new automatic multiprocessing scheme for PET image pre-screening, noise reduction, segmentation, and lesion partitioning. The methods showed good results and better performance in noise reduction, segmentation, and lesion partitioning compared with state-of-the-art methods. The scheme includes pre-screening for reducing time cost, denoising for enhancing quality, and clustering for instance segmentation.

Multimodal Spatial Attention Module for Targeting Multimodal PET-CT Lung Tumor Segmentation

Xiaohang Fu et al.

Summary: Multimodal PET-CT combines PET's sensitivity for tumor detection with CT's anatomical information for cancer assessment. Existing automated segmentation methods are often ineffective, leading to manual segmentation by imaging experts which is labor-intensive and error-prone.
