Red Light Regulates the Metabolite Biosynthesis in the Leaves of Huangjinya Through Amino Acid and Phenylpropanoid Metabolisms

Qingping Ma et al.

Summary: This study used high-throughput sequencing technology and LC-MS to analyze the transcriptome and metabolite changes of tender shoots of Huangjinya under white and red light supplement conditions. The results showed that red light supplementation led to differential expression of 174 genes, mainly enriched in amino acid metabolism. Metabolite analysis also revealed that red light supplementation increased sweet and umami tasting amino acids and decreased bitter-tasting amino acids in Huangjinya. In conclusion, red light supplementary treatment can improve the quality of Huangjinya by regulating amino acid metabolism.

Characterization of auxin transporter AUX, PIN and PILS gene families in pineapple and evaluation of expression profiles during reproductive development and under abiotic stresses

Heming Zhao et al.

Summary: This study identified the gene families of AcAUX, AcPIN, and AcPILS in the pineapple genome, characterized their expression patterns in different tissues, and found that some genes were responsive to abiotic stresses. Comparative analysis revealed similar expression patterns among pineapple, rice, and Arabidopsis genes with close evolutionary relationships. Overexpression of AcAUX1 in Arabidopsis rescued aux1-T phenotype and increased lateral roots in WT, providing new insights into the roles of auxin transporter genes in pineapple growth and development.
