Identification of 5S and 45S rDNA sites in Chrysanthemum species by using oligonucleotide fluorescence in situ hybridization (Oligo-FISH)

Jun He et al.

Summary: Using rDNA as a FISH probe, researchers found that 5S rDNA sites are mainly located in subterminal chromosome regions, while the number and intensity of 45S rDNA sites differ from previously studied Chrysanthemum resources. These findings offer insight into the chromosomal structural variations in Chrysanthemum and its related species.

Taxonomic monograph of the tribe Nigelleae (Ranunculaceae): a group including ancient medicinal plants

Ali A. Donmez et al.

Summary: This study taxonomically studied the worldwide distribution of the tribe Nigelleae, recognizing 18 species under three genera and proposing four new combinations and twenty new synonyms. Lectotypes were selected and incorrect lectotypification was discussed, while detailed descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps, and lists of examined specimens were provided for each taxon. IUCN threat categories were proposed based on literature, herbarium specimens, and field observations.

MEGA11 Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis Version 11

Koichiro Tamura et al.

Summary: MEGA software, a mature tool for computational molecular evolution, has been enhanced with new additions for building timetrees of species, pathogens, and gene families using rapid relaxed-clock methods. These additions include methods for estimating divergence times, confidence intervals, and new options for tagging sequences with spatiotemporal sampling information. The enhancements aim to improve user experience, result quality, and the pace of biological discovery.
