Intestinal Bacteriophage Therapy: Looking for Optimal Efficacy

Francois Javaudin et al.

Summary: Bacteriophages are considered as tools to engineer intestinal microbiota and fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the gut. However, their actual impact on targeted bacteria requires further investigation. Studies suggest that the efficacy of bacteriophage treatment is influenced by the type of targeted bacteria and the disease state in animal models.
