Potassium tert-Butoxide Promoted Synthesis of Dihydroquinazolinones

Tridev Ghosh et al.

Summary: An efficient synthetic protocol for accessing heterocyclic dihydroquinazolinones via a transition-metal-free process has been developed, involving the reaction of 2-aminobenzonitriles with aldehydes in the presence of (KOBu)-Bu-t. This method is compatible with aromatic ketones, providing 2,2-disubstituted dihydroquinazolinones in high yields. The reaction proceeds feasibly at room temperature and exhibits broad substrate scope and tolerance to various functional groups, following a radical pathway mechanism.

Anti-TB evaluation of novel 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones and in silico studies of the active compounds

Apurba Dutta et al.

Summary: Among a series of 15 novel 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one analogues, seven compounds demonstrated moderate to good anti-TB activity with minimum inhibitory concentration values ranging from 25.0-12.5 µg/mL. In silico experiments revealed potential ligand-protein interactions between the target compounds and enzymes from Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, providing valuable information on possible binding interactions.

Zr-Based Metal-Organic Framework/Reduced Graphene Oxide Composites for Catalytic Synthesis of 2,3-Dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one Derivatives

Gyanendra Kumar et al.

Summary: This study reported the successful synthesis of Zr-MOF/rGO nanocatalyst for a specific derivative, as well as evaluated the binding affinity of various aromatic derivatives to DNA. Both fluorescence studies and molecular docking results demonstrated that certain synthesized compounds showed the best binding effectiveness towards DNA.

Aqueous NH3-mediated syntheses of 2-styrylquinoline-4-carboxamides by domino ring opening cyclization strategy

R. Chandran et al.

Summary: An efficient protocol for the synthesis of medicinally relevant 2-styrylquinoline-4-carboxamide has been developed through aqueous ammonia-mediated domino ring-opening and cyclization strategy. The starting precursors, 3-hydroxyoxindoles, were easily prepared in high yields through organocatalytic on water reaction. The wide substrate scope and operationally simple experimental procedures provide an opportunity to create a library of 2-styrylquinoline-4-carboxamide derivatives.
