Enhanced Gold Recovery from Alkaline Pressure Oxidized Refractory Gold Ore After its Mechanical Activation Followed by Thiosulfate Leaching

Sugyeong Lee et al.

Summary: Pressure oxidation is a widely accepted method to treat refractory gold ores, but the gold recovery from alkaline pressure oxidation discharge is generally lower. Applying mechanical activation to the pressure oxidation discharge can enhance gold recovery, and optimizing the mechanical activation conditions can further improve the recovery effect.

Gold leaching from ores using biogenic lixiviants - A review

Esmaeil Jorjani et al.

Summary: This paper summarizes the research on recovering gold from different sources using biogenic reagents and organic compounds. The capabilities of bacteria and iodide-oxidizing bacteria in extracting gold are reviewed, as well as the dissolution ability of gold using organic compounds of microbial origin. The advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of microbial leaching of gold over traditional cyanide-based gold leaching are presented.

The detoxification and utilization of cyanide tailings: A critical review

Kaiwei Dong et al.

Summary: Cyanide tailings are hazardous solid wastes generated from the gold mining industry, containing toxic cyanides and valuable elements. Efforts have been made to develop detoxification and utilization technologies, with thermal treatment and autoclaved hydrolysis showing promise for cyanide removal. Recovery of valuable elements from cyanide tailings faces challenges but can bring economic and environmental benefits.
