Solar activity cycles recorded in long-term data on tritium activity concentration in precipitation at Zagreb, Croatia

Damir Borkovic et al.

Summary: The study analyzed long-term data of tritium activity concentration in precipitation in Zagreb, Croatia, and identified two distinct periods related to annual variations and the solar cycle. The research also observed a 30-month delay between the maxima in the smoothed monthly sunspot number and the minima in tritium activity concentration in precipitation, which was plausibly explained by the residence time of cosmogenic tritium in the stratosphere before entering the troposphere.

Wavelet Analysis of Rainfall and Runoff Multidecadal Time Series on Large River Basins in Western North Africa

Zineb Zamrane et al.

Summary: This study utilized wavelet analysis to compare rainfall and runoff series in Morocco, detecting various modes of variability specific to certain stations. By complementing the analysis with gridded data, a better understanding of spatial variability, identified frequencies, and discontinuities was achieved. The contribution of climatic indices was found to be significant, ranging from 55% to 80%.

Large-scale climate indices teleconnections with hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics of a karst spring using wavelet analysis

Abolfazl Rezaei et al.

Summary: This study investigated the teleconnections between El Nino-Southern Oscillation and Pacific Decadal Oscillation indices with the spring chemographs and delta O-18 time series in Sarabkalan Spring, Iran. The findings indicated that El Nino is more correlated with certain chemical components, while Pacific Decadal Oscillation is teleconnected with different parameters. Additionally, the study highlighted the impact of intense precipitation on spring discharge and the necessity of considering hydrogeological and climatic-oceanic-atmospheric factors in water resources planning.
