Manufactures of bio-degradable and bio-based polymers for bio-materials in the pharmaceutical field

Tariq Aziz et al.

Summary: Bio-based polymers have emerged as a promising alternative to petroleum-based polymers in various industries. Although they have desirable properties such as biodegradability and non-toxicity, their performance still falls short of end-use requirements. Incorporating nanosized reinforcement can greatly improve the properties and commercial potential of bio-polymers. Bio-based polymers can serve as a substitute for petroleum-based fibers, and the application of smart nanoparticles is size-dependent.

Effect of alkylaluminum cocatalyst on ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization and active center distribution of MgCl2-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst

Muhammad Adnan Akram et al.

Summary: In this study, ethylene-1-hexene copolymerization was catalyzed by TiCl4/diester/MgCl2 type Z-N catalyst activated by triethylaluminium (TEA), triisobutylaluminium (TIBA) or TEA/TIBA mixtures. The introduction of TIBA in the cocatalyst was found to broaden the chemical composition distribution of the copolymer and decrease the total number of active centers. The rate constant of ethylene insertion in the soluble fraction was much smaller compared to the insoluble fraction.
