Chromosome-level genome assemblies of the malaria vectors Anopheles coluzzii and Anopheles arabiensis

Anton Zamyatin et al.

Summary: The study successfully produced de novo chromosome-level genome assemblies for Anopheles coluzzii and Anopheles arabiensis using long-read Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology and Hi-C scaffolding approach. The new assemblies allowed for improved analysis of the genomes of these mosquito species, facilitating functional and population genomic studies in A. coluzzii and A. arabiensis.
