Summary: Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a widely used method for managing dental caries globally, with various manufacturers producing SDF at different concentrations. Despite its effectiveness, SDF is not allowed for use in mainland China, and guidelines for its clinical use have been developed by different government organizations and dental associations in other countries. Undergraduate and postgraduate dental curriculums in almost all countries include training for using SDF, but research on the actual utilization of SDF by dentists, especially in the private sector, is limited.
