Depression, anxiety, stress and their associated factors among Ethiopian University students during an early stage of COVID-19 pandemic: An online-based cross-sectional survey

Wudneh Simegn et al.

Summary: This study assessed depression, anxiety, and stress levels among university students in Ethiopia during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results showed prevalence rates of 46.3%, 52%, and 28.6% for depression, anxiety, and stress respectively. Various factors such as gender, self-efficacy in preventing COVID-19, access to information, and perception of COVID-19 preventability were significantly associated with these mental health outcomes. Addressing these modifiable factors and promoting psychological well-being is crucial for the mental health of university students.
