Log interpretation method of resistivity low-contrast oil pays in Chang 8 tight sandstone of Huanxian area, Ordos Basin by support vector machine

Ze Bai et al.

Summary: This study utilizes the support vector machine technology to interpret resistivity low-contrast oil pays in the Huanxian area of the Ordos Basin. The research constructs SVM classification and SVR regression models to identify fluid types and predict reservoir parameters, demonstrating the feasibility and accuracy of this method compared to traditional techniques. The findings provide valuable insights for evaluating existing wells and supporting exploration and development efforts in new formations.

NMR relaxometry interpretation of source rock liquid saturation - A holistic approach

Aliya Mukhametdinova et al.

Summary: The study examines NMR analysis of fluid saturation in organic mudstones and modifies interpretation schemes for better results. By comparing existing schemes, a custom interpretation scheme is proposed that is best suited for petrophysical and geochemical data. The impact of mineral composition and geochemical properties on signal interpretation is also analyzed.

Machine learning application to predict in-situ stresses from logging data

Ahmed Farid Ibrahim et al.

Summary: Machine learning techniques, specifically random forest, functional network, and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system, were applied to predict minimum and maximum horizontal stresses using well-log data. The study showed that the ML models were capable of accurately predicting the horizontal stresses, with ANFIS performing the best among the three models.
