Summary: This study found no differences in DKA-related biochemical parameters between type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients. Serum BHB can be used as a biomarker to predict DKA resolution. DKA should be assessed and treated similarly, regardless of its occurrence in type 1 or type 2 diabetes patients.

Antidiabetic activity of avocado seeds (Persea americana Mill.) in diabetic rats via activation of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway

Summary: This study explored the potential therapeutic effects of an aqueous extract of Persea americana seeds (AEPAS) on rats with diabetes. The results showed that AEPAS exhibited strong antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory properties. Administration of AEPAS improved insulin sensitivity and regulated glycolipid metabolism.
