Effects of Plyometric Jump Training in Sand or Rigid Surface on Jump-Related Biomechanical Variables and Physical Fitness in Female Volleyball Players

Summary: This study found that different surfaces (sand or rigid court) used during 8 weeks of plyometric jump training had specific effects on jump-related biomechanical variables and physical fitness in female indoor volleyball players. The sand surface group showed better cardiorespiratory endurance and leg-press one-repetition maximum performance, while the rigid surface group performed better in drop jump height and CMJ peak force.
