Photocatalytic property of MWCNTs/BiOI with rich oxygen vacancies

Limei Luo et al.

Summary: In this study, BiOI was surface decorated with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) using a hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized using various techniques, and the results showed that the surface modification with MWCNTs significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity of BiOI. This enhancement can be attributed to the strong interaction between MWCNTs and BiOI, as well as the excellent conductivity of MWCNTs, which promoted the separation of electron-hole pairs.

Enhanced photocatalytic efficiency of MWCNT/NiFe2O4 nanocomposites

Monalisa Hazarika et al.

Summary: This study investigated the photocatalytic properties of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles and MWCNT/NiFe(2)O(4) hybrid nanocomposites for the degradation of methylene blue under UV and visible light irradiation. The results showed that the MWCNT/NiFe(2)O(4) nanocomposite exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than the NiFe2O4 nanoparticles. This enhancement in activity can be attributed to the interfacial charge transfer between NiFe2O4 and MWCNT, which prevents electron-hole recombination. The study also demonstrated that a higher loading of MWCNT in the nanocomposite led to higher photocatalytic efficiency and larger kinetic rate constant.
