Genome-wide identification and analysis ofMedicago truncatulaSmall auxin upregulated RNA (SAUR) gene family uncover their roles in nodule formation

Tao Zhang et al.

Summary: The SAUR gene family, a critical player in environmental responses and developmental regulation, was comprehensively identified and analyzed in the study. 133 SAUR genes were unevenly distributed on all eight chromosomes of Medicago truncatula, with close relationships between AuxRE number and auxin responsive expression. The study provides insights into the possible functions of MtSAUR genes in nodule formation under different symbiotic bacterial infections, laying a fundamental basis for further understanding their involvement at the initiation phase of nodule formation.
