Dyeing of raw ramie yarn with Reactive Orange 5 dye

Ping Zhang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that high-temperature reactive dyes were more suitable for dyeing raw ramie yarn, and adsorption primarily followed the pseudo-second-order model. After the dyeing and washing processes, gummy substances in the fiber were effectively removed without affecting the water absorbency, tensile strength, and stiffness of the ramie yarn.

Green and Sustainable Method to Improve Fixation of a Natural Functional Dye onto Cotton Fabric Using Cationic Dye-Fixing Agent/D5 Microemulsion

Md Yousuf Hossain et al.

Summary: A green, sustainable, and environmentally friendly fixation process of natural dye was developed to enhance the fixation rate and colorfastness of dyed fabric. The use of a non-aqueous medium without mordants, along with the treatment of cacao husk extracts and a cationic dye-fixation agent, significantly improved the fixation rate and color strength. The colorfastness to rubbing and washing were remarkable, although the light fastness was poor.

Influence of Sequential Liquid Ammonia and Caustic Mercerization Pre-Treatment on Dyeing Performance of Knit Cotton Fabric

Lina Lin et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of a two-stage sequential pretreatment on the dyeing performance and handle of knit cotton fabric, as well as the relationship between dye size and dyeing properties. The results showed that the sequential treatment improved dye absorption and color uniformity, and the reactive dye with a smaller molecular weight exhibited better dyeing performance.

Effluent-free deep dyeing of cotton fabric with cacao husk extracts using the Taguchi optimization method

Md. Yousuf Hossain et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that dyeing cotton fabric with cacao husk extracts in the waterless D5 dyeing system can achieve better dye exhaustion and fixation rates, as well as improved color strength and colorfastness to washing and rubbing. The results show that optimizing dyeing conditions such as temperature and time can greatly impact the dye exhaustion percentage. Linear regression analysis reveals a strong correlation among the selected factors, indicating the potential for this eco-friendly dyeing method to minimize environmental pollution in the textile industry.

Adsorption, kinetics, and thermodynamic studies of cacao husk extracts in waterless sustainable dyeing of cotton fabric

Md Yousuf Hossain et al.

Summary: This research focused on achieving a higher dye exhaustion percentage on cotton fiber using a microemulsion dyebath containing cacao husk extracts dye and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5). The kinetic modeling of adsorption and analysis of adsorption isotherms indicated that the process was thermodynamically favorable and feasible. Overall, the study highlights the potential of a waterless dyeing process using a natural dye/D5 system for sustainable and environmentally beneficial textile dyeing.
