Soret-Dufour aspects with activation energy in peristaltic mechanism of third-grade material with variable features

T. Hayat et al.

Summary: This study investigates the heat and mass transfer of magnetohydrodynamic third-grade material in peristalsis through curved configuration, taking into account variable characteristics of thermal conductivity and viscosity, as well as the effects of Soret and Dufour. Slip aspects at channel boundaries are considered and resulting expressions are computed numerically. The physical interpretations of flow quantities for different parameters are analyzed, revealing opposite trends for velocity with viscosity coefficient and material parameter, as well as varying effects of Dufour and Soret parameters on temperature and concentration.

Numerical spectral examination of EMHD mixed convective flow of second-grade nanofluid towards a vertical Riga plate using an advanced version of the revised Buongiorno's nanofluid model

Ghulam Rasool et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of the Cattaneo-Christov model and convective boundary on second-grade nanofluid flow, as well as the influence of Lorentz forces generated by a Riga pattern. The research finds variations in horizontal movement, thermal distribution, and concentration distribution of nanoparticles for different fluid parameters. The results are obtained using a spectral local linearization method and reveal enhancements in horizontal movement for elevated modified Hartman factor values, as well as reductions in thermal state and nanoparticle concentration for incremental relaxation time parameters.

Effects of heat transfer and the endoscope on Jeffrey fluid peristaltic flow in tubes

A. M. Abd-Alla et al.

Summary: This study investigates the peristaltic flow of a Jeffrey fluid through uniform concentric tubes under the effects of an endoscope and heat transfer. The analytical solutions obtained for velocity, temperature profiles, pressure gradient, and volume flow rate show significant dependence on parameters such as wave amplitude, radius ratio, Grashof number, and relaxation to retardation times ratio. Numerical integration further analyzes pressure rise and frictional forces on the inner and outer tubes.

Hall and ion slip impacts on unsteady MHD convective rotating flow of heat generating/absorbing second grade fluid

M. Veera Krishna et al.

Summary: Through theoretical exploration, it was found that an increase in Hall and ion slip parameters leads to an increase in velocity throughout the fluid region, with thermal and solutal buoyancy forces contributing to velocity rising to high levels. The temperature decreases with an increase in the heat source parameter, while concentration decreases with an increase in the chemical reaction parameter. The rotation parameter reduces skin friction, whereas Hall and ion slip effects increase it, and an increase in the chemical reaction parameter results in an increased rate of mass transfer.
