Waist-to-height ratio has a stronger association with cardiovascular risks than waist circumference, waist-hip ratio and body mass index in type 2 diabetes

Jiang-Feng Ke et al.

Summary: Comparing the associations between four anthropometric indices and cardio-cerebrovascular events in Chinese T2DM patients, it was found that waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) had a stronger association and may be a better indicator for evaluating cardiovascular risks in this population.

Risk-factors associated with extremely high cardiovascular risk of mid- and long-term mortality following myocardial infarction: Analysis of the Hyperlipidaemia Therapy in tERtiary Cardiological cEnTer (TERCET) registry

Krzysztof Dyrbus et al.

Summary: High mortality rates were observed in patients after myocardial infarction compared to those with chronic coronary syndromes. Risk factors strongly associated with mortality included low left ventricular ejection fraction, age over 75, multivessel coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, diabetes mellitus, and elevated LDL-C or creatinine levels. These high-risk patients might benefit from the most intensive therapy and could be classified as an 'extreme risk' population.
