Nutrient Removal by Grain in Modern Soybean Varieties

Michel Esper Neto et al.

Summary: The study reveals that modern soybean varieties in Brazil have higher nutrient removal compared to historical values, especially in terms of N, P, K, and Mg removal. However, over a 10-year period, the impact of plant breeding on grain nutrient concentration was significant only for N and Mg. The differences in nutrient removal patterns between Brazil and other countries suggest an integrated effect of management, genotype, and environment on nutrient removal.
