Summary: The study found that Stumvoll and AUC(ins)/AUC(glu) are valid OGTT-based measures of insulin secretory response during pregnancy, and can effectively reflect the changes in insulin secretion.

Maternal and Neonatal 3-epi-25-hydroxyvitamin D Concentration and Factors Influencing Their Concentrations

Di Mao et al.

Summary: This study found that 3-epi-25(OH)D3 is present in both maternal and neonatal circulation and contributes to a portion of total 25(OH)D. Factors such as having a male fetus, ambient solar radiation, maternal glycemia, and vitamin D levels were associated with maternal 3-epi-25(OH)D3 levels, while advanced maternal age, multiparity, inadequate gestational weight gain, maternal glycemic status, and earlier gestational age at delivery were significantly associated with higher umbilical cord serum 3-epi-25(OH)D3 levels.

Dietary supplementation for gestational diabetes prevention and management: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Kwan Yi Chan et al.

Summary: This review included 53 randomized controlled studies involving 9443 pregnant women. Vitamin D and myo-inositol supplementation significantly reduced the risk of GDM, while myo-inositol, probiotics, and vitamin D showed significant intervention effects on surrogate markers related to cardiometabolic risk. However, most studies were clustered in Iran and Italy, potentially leading to a generalizability bias.
