Structure, electric and thermoelectric properties of binary ZnO-based ceramics doped with Fe and Co

A. V. Pashkevich et al.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between the structure and electric properties of composite ceramics and found that the type of doping agents and synthesis process can affect the phase composition and performance of the materials. In terms of electron transport, the contribution of the C-band depends on the low and deep donor centers. Doping with iron enhanced the performance of ZnO-based ceramic samples, while doping with cobalt resulted in a weaker effect.

Thermally Stable Piezoelectric Performance of MnO2 Inserted Pseudo-tetragonal Phase Existent CaBi2Nb2O9-based Ceramics

Nawishta Jabeen et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of pseudo-tetragonal phase boundary existent Ca-0.60(Li0.5Bi0.5)(0.40)Bi2Nb2O9:xwt%MnO2 (CBNL:xMn) ceramics were fabricated to investigate their ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. The addition of MnO2 in CBNL improved the multifunctional properties of the material, especially at x = 0.20. CBNL:0.20Mn ceramic exhibited high density, saturated polarization, piezoelectric coefficient, and impedance. It also showed a sharp peak in the dielectric constant dependence on temperature, confirming its strong ferroelectric nature. Moreover, the poled CBNL:0.20Mn ceramic demonstrated thermally stable depoling performance. These results highlight the significance of introducing multivalence Mn ions in the pseudo-tetragonal existent region of CBNL, making it a promising candidate for actuators and high-temperature piezoelectric devices.

Effects of Oxide Additives on the Phase Structures and Electrical Properties of SrBi4Ti4O15 High-Temperature Piezoelectric Ceramics

Shaozhao Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, SrBi4Ti4O15 high-temperature piezoelectric ceramics with the addition of different oxides were prepared and investigated for their phase structures and electrical properties. The addition of Cr2O3 was found to significantly enhance the piezoelectric properties of SBT. Among the compositions, Sr0.92Gd0.053Bi4Ti4O15 + 0.2 wt% Cr2O3 exhibited the best electrical properties, making it suitable for high-stability piezoelectric sensors operating below 500 degrees C.

Observation of magnetoelectric effect in CuO-doped SrBi4Ti4O15 ceramics

E. Elayaperumal et al.

Summary: Room temperature magnetoelectric coupling effect was observed in CuO-doped SrBi4Ti4O15 lead-free ferroelectric ceramics. The interstitial doping of CuO resulted in the formation of secondary phases and a weak room temperature ferromagnetic hysteresis curve. The highest saturation magnetization and remnant polarization were achieved for x = 1 mol% of CuO-doped ceramic, along with a weak magnetoelectric effect due to spontaneous magnetization and oxygen deficiency.
