A tension stiffening model for FRCM reinforcements calibrated by means of an extended database

Francesca Nerilli et al.

Summary: In this study, the tensile performance of FRCM composites as a structural retrofitting technique is analyzed through an extensive database of experimental results. The mechanical and geometrical parameters of the constituents are found to influence the tensile response of the FRCM reinforcement. An analytical provisional formulation is proposed to reproduce the stress-strain behavior of FRCMs based on the mechanical and geometrical features of the constituents.

Summary: This article investigates the behavior and characterization of TRM materials by directly monitoring the strain evolution of textile bundles using distributed fiber optic sensors. The results provide valuable insights for optimizing the bond performance of TRM and accurately predict its global performance using analytical models.

Experimental Evidences and Numerical Modelling of SRG Systems Under Uniaxial Load

Francesca Roscini et al.

Summary: Modern repairing and retrofitting methods for existing structures use composite materials, such as high strength textiles and a matrix, to improve structural performance without significantly increasing weight or causing damage. These methods are often applied to masonry structures, and inorganic matrixes like cement or lime mortars are preferred over organic gluing agents. Steel Reinforced Grouts have been studied and tested for their mechanical characteristics and are being used to enhance the structural performance of historical masonry buildings.

Bond behaviour of multi-ply steel reinforced grout composites

G. E. Thermou et al.

Summary: This paper presents an experimental investigation on Steel Reinforced Grout (SRG) systems with multiple layers of galvanized UHTSS textiles embedded in a geopolymer mortar. The effects of number of textile plies, cord density, and compressive strength of concrete on the bond behavior are analyzed through lap-splice and single-lap bond tests. The study aims to develop a better understanding of the textile-to-textile load transfer capacity and SRG-to-concrete substrate bond behavior.
