Glyphosate adsorption onto porous clay heterostructure (PCH): kinetic and thermodynamic studies

Sabrine Besghaier et al.

Summary: The synthesized PCH from natural bentonite is an effective porous heterostructure material for adsorbing glyphosate from water. The adsorption process occurs through an interaction between the silanol group of montmorillonite and/or the PCH adsorbent with the functional groups of glyphosate. The herbicide sorption is more effective in a basic environment.

Synthesis of Porous Clay Heterostructures Modified with SiO2-ZrO2 Nanoparticles for the Valorization of Furfural in One-Pot Process

Salima Essih et al.

Summary: The layered structure of smectites can be modified by the insertion of SiO2-ZrO2 nanoparticles, leading to the formation of porous clay heterostructures (PCHs). These PCHs exhibit improved textural and acid properties, making them suitable for catalytic processes. The reaction temperature plays a significant role in determining the products obtained from the conversion of furfural.

Summary: Water quality is primarily indicated by the color of the water, with clean water being a valuable asset. Adsorption is the most commonly used method for removing dyes, with research showing that various factors can influence the adsorption process. Studies have shown that high efficiency can be achieved in a short time, and high removal rates can be achieved with low adsorbent dosage.

An investigation of natural and modified diatomite performance for adsorption of Basic Blue 41: isotherm, kinetic, and thermodynamic studies

Ali Riza Kul et al.

Summary: In this study, natural diatomite and Mn-modified diatomite were found to be effective for the adsorption of Basic Blue 41 from aqueous solution at different temperatures. The Freundlich isotherm model showed better performance, with higher isotherm constants indicating favorable removal at higher temperatures. Economic analysis suggested that diatomite could be a cost-effective alternative to more expensive adsorbents for dye removal.

Synthesis and application of montmorillonite nanocomposites/phenolic resins for the elimination of Basic Blue 41

Salima Lellou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the adsorption of Basic Blue 41 by polymer-modified bentonite, finding that the optimal parameters for adsorption are a solid/solution ratio of 1 g L-1, pH=7, and equilibrium contact time of 1 hour. The kinetics of adsorption follow the pseudo-second-order model and the isotherms are well-described by the Langmuir-Freundlich model. The adsorption of BB41 is spontaneous, exothermic, and disordered for both unmodified and modified bentonite.

Removal of brilliant green dye from synthetic wastewater under batch mode using chemically activated date pit carbon

Ramadan Abd El-Ghany Mansour et al.

Summary: The research involved the design of a single-stage batch adsorber using activated carbon derived from date pits for removal of brilliant green dye from aqueous solutions. Experimental work determined optimal operating conditions and process efficiency through various analytical techniques. The adsorption process was found to be physically sorptive and spontaneous at low temperatures.
