Sustainable mixed matrix membranes containing porphyrin and polysulfone polymer for acid gas separations

Sidra Saqib et al.

Summary: The synergy between nitrogen-rich and CO2-philic filler and polymer in mixed matrix membranes enhances CO2 separation efficiency. Through meticulous preparation, the porphyrin filler and polysulfone polymer composite membranes exhibit high thermal stability and improved gas transport properties. The presence of Lewis basic functionalities in the filler-polymer interface contributes to the highly CO2-philic structure, leading to enhanced gas permeability and selectivity.
